jabber.org goes drupal

jabber.orgPicking through my email and RSS on a Sunday afternoon, I noticed that jabber.org has finally relaunched using Drupal! I think this is exciting, as it brings together two of my favourite technologies.

I've been peripherally involved in the XSF/jabber.org Drupal initiatives for a few years now. While I wasn't as closely involved in this site launch as I'd hoped to be (due to time constraints), they've definitely got my support and I hope to help this initiative continue to grow!

Congrats Peter and team!

Something I noticed today

Reading your post, I went and checked out the jabber.org site, and noticed they openly mention they have re-launched on Drupal. Then I went back through many of the other sites that I have recently seen have re-launched on Drupal, and something stood out. They all promote the fact that they use Drupal!

I am not sure if it is a bias I myself hold or a reflection on the people and groups that are using Drupal, but it seems Drupal sites are much more likely to promote it than most other CMS / Frameworks. Its good for Drupal, and reflects well on the project, and the community!

That's funny. About a year

That's funny. About a year ago, I was thinking about how much a Drupal website would benefit the Jabber folk. Think this will push development on the XMPP module forward?

Nice news, and nice
