Yahoo! unveils OpenID support!

It's official!. ReadWriteWeb picked up on it early last week, when OpenID link tags appeared on flickr profile pages. Rampant speculation ensued, but the wraps are off. "Yahoo! Support Triples Number of OpenID Accounts to 368 million". Full details at http://openid.yahoo.com/ .

But can you log into Yahoo using OpenID accounts?

I've noticed some websites are more excited about letting you use your username & password elsewhere, than letting you use some other username & password with them. What's the point of OpenID if everyone provides an OpenID account but no-one lets you use one provided by someone else?

Still, this is a nice step in the right direction.

great point

From Zawodny ( http://jeremy.zawodny.com/blog/archives/009856.html ):

Oh, and before anyone jumps on me about this not being "full" (meaning bi-directional) OpenID support, I'm quite aware of that. Consuming OpenID is a different beast that can't happen overnight. Give it some time. I'm optimistic that we'll get there.

So, it's coming... and Blogger is bi-directional already... it's coming.

How about support for OpenID commenting on your blog?

Awesome, now it would be great if people sign their comments on your blog using OpenID 2.0!

:)

Thanks for stopping by, Allen

Yeah, OpenID commenting is coming ... but for now you can register/login at http://walkah.net/user (via OpenID)
